Lee Desanges is expanding his popular pizzeria into a friendly neighbourhood coffee shop in Digbeth, following nearly a decade of success with his original establishment.
Lee Desanges, owner of the popular pizzeria Baked In Brick, is set to open a new bakehouse in Digbeth, Birmingham. This follows the establishment’s successful growth since its inception nearly ten years ago, when it started operating from a classic Mini with a barbecue and a pizza oven.
The new outlet, described as a ‘friendly neighbourhood coffee shop,’ will be situated next to 670 Grams at the Custard Factory. Baked In Brick has already expanded to multiple locations, including Wylde Green, Sutton Coldfield, and Birmingham city centre, where it serves coffee, cakes, and freshly baked pastries.
Though no launch date has been announced for the Digbeth branch, plans are also underway for another launch in the Jewellery Quarter. The bakery’s existing branches have received positive reviews, with the Sutton Coldfield location being described as a ‘hidden gem’ and the Wylde Green outlet praised for offering ‘artisan quality’ goods.
Recent social media engagement indicates excitement among local residents about the new opening.
