Berlin-based AI startup Beatsquares has raised $2 million (about €1.8 million) in seed funding to expand its platform for automatically repurposing editorial content across multiple digital channels.
The round was co-led by IBB Ventures and XTR Capital, with participation from ddvg, Dutch media investor V-Ventures and a group of business angels. It follows a $500,000 pre-seed investment secured in late 2024.
Founded in 2024, Beatsquares aims to extend the reach of publishers’ content as audiences fragment across an increasing number of platforms. Its AI agents convert existing editorial content into multiple formats and languages while seeking to preserve each publisher’s editorial style and tone. The platform can automatically generate social media posts, newsletters, on-site content and AI-produced podcasts from existing journalism.
The company is already working with publishers including Süddeutsche Zeitung and Tagesspiegel, as well as exhibition organiser Messe Berlin.
The new funding will be used to expand the company’s engineering and commercial teams, develop its AI platform and support international expansion.

Rayk Reitenbach, investment director at IBB Ventures, said Beatsquares had developed a product that addressed the challenge of audience fragmentation while drawing on the editorial experience of its team, which includes a former director of public broadcasting in Germany, a deputy editor-in-chief of Bild, a WPP executive, a McKinsey partner and the former head of product at Axel Springer.
