Borderlands 4 Propaganda Speakers Guide: Silence The Timekeeper’s Message

Across the vast regions of Kairos, The Timekeeper’s propaganda blares from speakers strategically placed throughout the landscape, spreading messages of control and dominance. For vault hunters looking to disrupt this communication network while earning valuable rewards, destroying these propaganda speakers presents an engaging side activity with substantial benefits.

Each propaganda speaker location requires players to defend ECHO-4 during a hacking process while waves of enemies attempt to interrupt the operation. Successfully completing these challenges not only silences The Timekeeper’s messaging but also rewards players with 20 Storage Deck Upgrades (SDU) per speaker – making them well worth the effort.

Coastal Bonescape Region

The Coastal Bonescape houses two propaganda speakers, both positioned in areas requiring careful navigation.

The first speaker is located east of the center of Coastal Bonescape, elevated above Shammy’s Shack and southeast of The Stockroom Order Silo. Players will face Rippers and Psychos immediately upon approaching the area, even before initiating the hacking sequence.

The second speaker is tucked away near a mountain east of Plungeford, in the top-center portion of the region. Its secluded location makes it easy to miss unless players are specifically searching for it or detect its audio broadcasts when nearby.

The Howl Region

In The Howl region, two propaganda speakers await destruction. The first is positioned near the southeast corner, southwest of the Wreck of the Nostalgia point of interest. Though situated in a relatively unremarkable area with a few buildings along the road, completing this event yields the standard 20 SDU reward.

The second speaker presents more of a challenge, located near the western boundary of The Howl. Players should approach from Rootdown Estates heading west to avoid impassable terrain. The speaker sits on a raised platform in the center of a Ripper encampment, making it difficult to avoid enemy engagement while hacking.

Hungering Plain Region

This region contains a single propaganda speaker near its southeast corner, close to The Flarewell point of interest. Players can access it by following the road to an overpass with an open door underneath, which leads upstairs to the speaker location. Like other speakers, completing this hack rewards players with 20 SDU.

Idolator’s Noose Region

Within Idolator’s Noose, one propaganda speaker can be found at the Rosemary’s Reserve point of interest, northeast of the region’s center and east of the Someday Rise Safehouse. Players should prepare for combat as the speaker is positioned inside a Ripper base with numerous hostile enemies.

Dissected Plateau Region

The Dissected Plateau features two propaganda speakers. The first is located near the southwest corner of the region, east of Boglight Vigilance and south of The Killing Floors point of interest. Unlike most other speakers that trigger Ripper or Order enemies, this one attracts swarms of tunneling Threshers, making ranged combat advisable unless your build favors close encounters.

The second speaker sits in the northwest corner near the Motherbird Node, northwest of the Deep Seven Order Silo. Players with access to this Order Silo can fast travel there for easier approach. Otherwise, navigating requires climbing the wall on the west side of the Order base, following a wooden bridge to a grapple node, and continuing along until reaching a climbable section.

The Low Leys Region

A single propaganda speaker exists in the southern portion of The Low Leys, south of Windspear’s Lictor’s Black site and west of Checkpoint Taupe. Players need to drop into a large valley running alongside the highway to reach it. The nearby Mangler caves add an interesting dynamic, as Order troops that spawn during the hack may fight with the local wildlife if the player doesn’t draw all aggression.

Grindstone of the Worthy Region

This region contains two propaganda speakers. The first is near the northwest corner, north of Stopflow Bowels and west-southwest of Crumblehall, somewhat hidden beside a large rock wall with industrial structures. Players will face the usual Ripper enemies including Psychos, Pulpers, and Splices.

The second speaker is positioned north of the center of the region, east of Crumblehall and northwest of The Deckled Sprawl. Following the road at the region’s top will lead to a Ripper base with a pipe spewing black smoke – the speaker sits near the massive rock wall adjacent to this base.

Additional Regions

The guide continues through multiple other areas including Ruined Sumplands (three speakers), Tonnage Peel (two speakers), Cuspid Climb (three speakers), and several others spanning the districts of Carcadia, Terminus, Fades, and Lopside.

For collectors seeking to silence all of The Timekeeper’s messaging across Kairos, methodically working through each region not only provides substantial SDU rewards but also helps reduce the oppressive presence of propaganda throughout the game world.

As players progress through these challenges, they’ll encounter varied enemy types based on the territory controlling each speaker – from Order troops in their established zones to Rippers in the wasteland areas and even local wildlife in some remote locations.
