Chris Sajnog here, author of Navy SEAL Shooting. <strong><em>In this post, I want to tell you about the importance of diet and exercise and why these are vital components<\/em> of learning any skill.<\/strong> Now, let&#8217;s go ahead and get started.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A common question that I get is, \u201cWhy did I put a chapter about diet and exercise in a book about shooting?\u201d The reason is, it&#8217;s because I am not just teaching you how to pull a trigger or how to hold a gun, I am teaching you to <\/span><b>become a warrior<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">M.E.D.S<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I want to teach you today why it&#8217;s critical that you need think about your <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">diet<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">get proper exercise every single day.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I&#8217;ve come up with a system in which all you need to do is <\/span><b>take your meds<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. But before you rush off to the pharmacy, when I say meds, I mean:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So let&#8217;s break each one of those down very quickly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meditation<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Alright, so first up in the importance of diet and exercise is meditation.<\/strong> Meditation is simply like <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">defragging the hard drive<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> if your brain is a computer. I&#8217;m not going to get too much into it here in this post because if you&#8217;ve watched any of my other videos or read any of my posts, you know that I talk and teach a lot about meditation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exercise<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Next up is exercise. You just need to get the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">blood flowing every day<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. I just tell people to<\/span><b> sweat every day<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, you don&#8217;t need a big plan. One thing that I think is one of the best ideas that you can do is just <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">go mountain running<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> every single day. You need to be eating<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> healthy fats<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Healthy fats are what&#8217;s going to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">build your neural pathways.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They used to teach us that fats were bad, but if God made that fat, then that <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">fat is good<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Eat as much as you want. But do not eat any vegetable oils or sugar. Avoid both of those things like the plague, and you&#8217;re going to be <\/span><b>a lot healthier<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sleep<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The S stands for sleep. We all need about<\/span><b> eight and a half hours of sleep<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> every night. There are people out there saying, \u201cI don&#8217;t need that much. I can work all night and I just need like four hours sleep and I&#8217;m good.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Well, the problem is the reason you need to work so long is that you&#8217;re <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">not getting enough sleep<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
