{"id":10510,"date":"2026-04-28T11:47:19","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T11:47:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sawahsolutions.com\/range\/first-protest-filed-against-the-armys-troubled-maps-contract\/"},"modified":"2026-04-28T11:47:20","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T11:47:20","slug":"first-protest-filed-against-the-armys-troubled-maps-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sawahsolutions.com\/range\/first-protest-filed-against-the-armys-troubled-maps-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"First protest filed against the Army\u2019s troubled MAPS contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The first in what could be many bid protests involving the\u00a0Army\u2019s MAPS contract has been filed at the Government Accountability Office.<\/p>\n<p>The 10-year, $50 billion\u00a0Marketplace for the Acquisition of Professional Services vehicle has\u00a0drawn industry complaints about a lack of transparency and how the Army will evaluate past performance for small business partners.<\/p>\n<p>Industry has also complained how slowly the Army has responded to thousands of questions potential bidders have had about the solicitation.<\/p>\n<p>MetroStar Systems filed its pre-award protest on Thursday at the\u00a0Government Accountability Office, which is due to make its decision by\u00a0Aug. 3. Attempts to reach MetroStar officials for comment were not successful.<\/p>\n<p>The Army has been trying to address industry concerns and said it expected\u00a0answer all submitted questions by April 24.<\/p>\n<p>But when the Army posted a batch of answers that day, it said remaining questions would be answered by the end of this week.<\/p>\n<p>The Army has pushed back the due date for proposals from May 1 to May 8. But as one industry source said, \u201cThis is still a hot mess.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>MetroStar&#8217;s protest alone will not force the Army to delay the due date.<\/p>\n<p>However, the\u00a0Army could decide to delay proposals as part of a corrective action it takes in response to protest.
