The redesigned pump incorporates several key engineering enhancements, including a larger shaft and heavy-duty bearings to improve stability and prevent motor failure from shaft deflection\u2014a common issue in demanding slurry applications. Weir engineers have also elevated the strainer above ground level and added protective legs, effectively shielding it from tools, debris and other potential workplace hazards that typically cause operational disruptions.<\/p>\n
Among the most significant innovations is the development of a custom double mechanical seal with a pressure-balanced oil chamber. This will ensure it is easier to maintain and will also reduce the need for a large parts inventory.”<\/p>\n
