Harvest Gold Reports Progress on Quebec Gold Exploration Projects
Harvest Gold Corporation (TSXV: HVG) has released an update on its exploration activities across key gold projects in Quebec, highlighting significant progress at both the Mosseau Gold Project and Urban-Barry property.
At the Mosseau Gold Project, the company reports that its diamond drilling campaign is advancing according to plan, with five holes already completed in the northern section of the property. This area is notable for its historical gold showings and favorable geological conditions, making it a strategic focus for current exploration efforts.
“The drilling operations are proceeding on schedule and within budget,” a company spokesperson confirmed. Harvest Gold acknowledged the contributions of its contractors, including Forage Rouillier, which is handling the drilling operations, and Explo-Logik, which provides technical support, field logistics, core logging, and drill core sampling services.
The company has implemented rigorous operational protocols to ensure both safety and efficiency, with daily progress reports being submitted to the management team. While the update confirms the completion of five drill holes, analytical and assay results have not yet been disclosed. These results will be crucial for guiding future exploration decisions and mapping potential mineralized zones within the property.
Simultaneously, Harvest Gold has completed its regional till sampling program at the Urban-Barry property ahead of schedule and under budget. This geochemical survey was designed to identify exploration vectors that could indicate subsurface gold mineralization.
The sampling campaign, which originally planned for 145 sample sites, successfully collected 137 usable till samples. These were arranged along a grid system with northwest-southeast oriented lines spaced 1,000 to 1,500 meters apart, with sampling locations positioned approximately every 250 meters along each line.
Particular attention was paid to sampling methodology, with most samples taken from depths exceeding one meter to reach the lodgment till layer—a type of glacial deposit considered valuable for geochemical exploration due to its potential to contain material from nearby mineralized sources. Each sample weighed approximately 10 kilograms and was carefully collected to avoid contamination from larger debris.
While geochemical assay results from the till survey are still pending, the company has indicated that this data will play a significant role in defining and prioritizing exploration targets across the Urban-Barry project area.
Harvest Gold’s Quebec portfolio extends beyond these two active projects. The company holds three gold exploration properties in the Urban Barry region: Mosseau, Urban-Barry, and LaBelle. Together, these projects encompass 377 claims covering 20,016.87 hectares and include over 50 kilometers of mineralized shear zones. These properties are strategically located 45 to 70 kilometers west of the Windfall deposit, a major gold asset now owned by Gold Fields Limited.
The Mosseau property, where drilling is currently underway, is situated along the boundary of the Eeyou Istchee-James Bay and Abitibi territories. Harvest Gold has emphasized its commitment to maintaining respectful and transparent relationships with Indigenous communities in the region, recognizing the importance of these partnerships for sustainable exploration activities.
This exploration update comes at a time when junior gold explorers are intensifying efforts in established mining jurisdictions like Quebec, which offers both geological potential and political stability. The province has seen increased exploration activity as companies seek to capitalize on gold’s strong performance in global markets.
Harvest Gold positions itself as a focused explorer targeting near-surface gold deposits and copper-gold porphyry systems in stable jurisdictions. The company highlights the extensive experience of its leadership team and technical advisors, who collectively bring more than four centuries of expertise in geology, mineral exploration, and financing to these projects.
The results from both the Mosseau drilling program and the Urban-Barry till sampling campaign will be closely watched by investors and industry observers as potential indicators of new gold discoveries in this prolific region of Quebec.
