The once-troubled Banyan Cay Resort & Golf in West Palm Beach, Florida has been rebranded as the exclusive Dutchman’s Pipe Golf Club, catering to wealthy Palm Beach and West Palm Beach residents who desire a new golf experience near their coastal homes. With the golf course situated just east of Interstate 95, near the Tanger Outlets shopping mall, Dutchman’s Pipe promises convenience and luxury for its members.
Initiation fees for Dutchman’s Pipe range from $300,000 to $350,000, making it an exclusive club for affluent individuals. The existing Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is being renovated to enhance the playing experience and attract upscale club members. Plans are also in place to transform Dutchman’s Pipe into a holistic retreat with globally-recognized chefs overseeing three restaurants and a variety of fitness and wellness amenities.
Former members of the Banyan Cay club have lost their memberships and fees due to the bankruptcy filing. Some former members have joined other clubs in the area, while the new ownership group focuses on elevating Dutchman’s Pipe to a level of luxury comparable to the Breakers Palm Beach resort and club. The ownership group includes experienced operators of luxury hotels, residences, and clubs with a track record of success in the industry.
West Palm Beach has been evolving into an extension of Palm Beach, attracting a surge of wealthy residents and upscale amenities. The demand for upscale hotels and residences has increased significantly in recent years, prompting operators like Witkoff to invest in luxury projects in the area. The completion of the 150-room resort hotel at Dutchman’s Pipe is anticipated in the fall, offering a range of amenities including fitness facilities, pools, tennis centers, and spa services.
Despite previous financial troubles, Dutchman’s Pipe is undergoing a transformation with the golf course being refurbished to enhance the playing experience. The course is being improved with new grass, practice facilities, berms, bunkers, and reshaped holes. The resort will also offer tennis, pickleball, and padel courts, along with three dining venues led by a renowned chef and various health and wellness amenities.
Membership at Dutchman’s Pipe is by invitation only initially, with plans to offer social memberships in the future. Club members will have access to exclusive dining options, fitness facilities, spa services, and event space. The new ownership group aims to create a luxurious and upscale experience for members, positioning Dutchman’s Pipe as a premier destination for affluent individuals seeking a high-end golf and leisure experience in West Palm Beach.
