Asanti Data Centres Ltd, a prominent UK colocation data centre provider, has announced a new partnership with Sumillion, the UK’s most sustainable IT reseller, facilitated through the IT distributor Northamber PLC. This collaboration brings together three organisations committed to delivering eco-friendly, future-ready IT infrastructure while helping customers advance their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives. Sumillion, known for its sustainable and ethical practices\u2014from green technology initiatives to community-focused charitable giving\u2014will now leverage Asanti’s regional edge data centre infrastructure, offering customers scalable, resilient colocation solutions with significantly reduced environmental impacts.<\/p>\n
This partnership enhances Asanti\u2019s strategic alliance with Northamber, announced earlier in the year, aiming to supply channel partners with sustainable data centre solutions across the UK. Asanti’s infrastructure spans six regional edge locations\u2014Hamilton, Livingston, Manchester, Leeds, Reading, and Farnborough\u2014each facility boasting a 99.99% uptime service level agreement (SLA) and powered by 100% certified green energy. The company recently secured a renewable energy agreement with Bryt Energy, part of the Statkraft group, to further reduce its carbon footprint by an estimated 2,856 tonnes of CO2 annually. This contract ensures Asanti\u2019s data centres are powered by a combination of solar, wind, and hydro energy, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability amid the UK’s diverse energy grid mix.<\/p>\n
Northamber\u2019s director of Cyber & Solutions, Grant Reddin, emphasised the alignment between Sumillion\u2019s sustainability ethos and Asanti\u2019s efficient regional edge data centres. Sumillion\u2019s John Rose highlighted the importance of integrating sustainable practices across the entire IT infrastructure stack, explaining that the partnership enables the company to extend its mission into resilient, secure data centre infrastructure without compromising customers\u2019 environmental values.<\/p>\n
