“Israel offered arrangements through third countries,” Durmaz explained. “The proposals suggested: ‘You have reached your goal \u2014 let us deliver these humanitarian supplies to Gaza via Cyprus, under the guarantees of the Vatican or the United Nations.'” According to Durmaz, such offers came through high-level Italian diplomatic channels, including both Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and President Sergio Mattarella.<\/p>\n
The flotilla coordinator interpreted these offers as strategic attempts to neutralize the convoy’s mission and diminish its influence. “These were in fact attempts to block the flotilla and break its influence,” he stated firmly.<\/p>\n
Physical sabotage has accompanied the diplomatic maneuvering, with Durmaz reporting that several vessels have been rendered inoperable through deliberate damage. More alarmingly, he noted that areas where the flotilla’s ships were docked had been targeted by “more than 20 drones and sonic bombs” during their preparation phase.<\/p>\n
The Israeli campaign extends beyond physical interference to what Durmaz describes as systematic media manipulation. “Israel systematically attempts almost daily to weaken this process and uses various terrorism accusations to manipulate the media, portraying it as a ‘Hamas flotilla,'” he explained.
