3 Easy-Yet-Festive Ways To Turn Your Canned THC Drinks Into a ”Cocktail”

ICYMI: There’s a boatload of THC/CBD beverages on the market, and they’re good. (Believe me, I’ve tried so many.) This huge progression in regulated cannabis beverages means there’s no shortage of easily drinkable, booze-free bevvies to choose from, with flavor options like Mandarin Pomelo, Grapefruit Rosemary, and some *actual* cocktail-inspired flavors like Sea Salt Margarita.

However, I want more fun! I want more whimsy! Of course, when I’m opting for a weed-forward evening, it’s usually because I’m *not* drinking alcohol. But if I’m in a social setting, I still want my special little drink. You know, the kind that I can take a photo of up against a sunset on a rooftop—I like to curate a very specific summer vibe for the ‘gram, ok? Also, it’s really nice to have friends over for a dinner party and still be able to offer them a “cocktail” with ice and garnish in a festive glass. So, below are a few options to turn your favorite cannabis drinkable into your next favorite “cocktail,” developed and tested by me, in order from lowest dose to highest dose. Cheers!

Drink 1: Berry Crush (2.5mg THC)

Love Moscow Mules or mojitos? This low-dose drink is for you. It uses half of a can of Delta Light Bright Berry (5mg), which has a tart-yet-sweet berry taste. In a rocks glass, muddle together all the ingredients except for the Delta Light. Add ice and the Delta Light—half a can will be 2.5mg THC, so feel free to adjust to your liking. You could even use less of the Delta Light and top the drink off with seltzer water if you wish. Garnish with more mint.

Drink 2: The Tricycle (5 mg THC)

Like a Bicicletta, but not. To mix this summery cocktail, combine de-alcoholized white wine (I’m a fan of Oddbirds’ offerings!) and Cann Spritz, a THC-infused apéritif. Add ice and top with club soda. Garnish with orange slices and a few olives on a toothpick. Feel free to use a rocks glass for a Bicicletta vibe, or go full Spritz with a stemmed wine glass.

Drink 3: Seeing Green (6 mg THC)

Think: green juice meets a margarita. First, you’ll combine all verdita ingredients in a blender; blend on high until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh strainer if necessary. Store any extra juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Once your verdita is made, grab your glass of choice and add ice. Add the verdita and Reframe, a cannabis-infused spirit with hints of coconut, pineapple, and mango. Top with seltzer and gently stir to combine. Garnish with jalapeño pepper slices.
